Re: Shell and skin

He eats the heck out of lettuce. I put a piece the size of a credit card in there and he ate most of it (didn't eat the rib) in a day. He also took a bite out of Clevon the mystery snail. I don't think he likes being on a diet.

Re: Cultivating a snail population

... to get some tips from someone who regularly breeds them (I think they are called Ramshorn) as turtle food as well as a way to keep the tank clean. Mystery Snails are too expensive and just become turtle food quickly.

Re: Zebra Nitrite snail passed today :(

Sorry to hear about your snail :(. I actually just picked up one and a blue mystery snail from the pet store over the weekend. I'm trying not to get attached them in case our turt decides to murder them. But I'm a bit partial to our zebra nitrite due to the coloring on his shell :).

Re: Snail Reproduction Solutions?

... against putting the eggs/baby snails into local waterways. It can negatively impact the ecosystem, and is likely illegal. If they are indeed mystery snails, I'm surprised that the turtle hasn't eaten them yet but they shouldn't cause health problems if the turtle does. Mystery snails will ...

Re: Snail Reproduction Solutions?

The mystery snails are harmless. You can sell them on Craigslist.org, let your turtle eat them while they are small (will do regardless of where they try to hide), or keep them as odd pets (which will become a huge problem in a year, when your turtle wont have anywhere to swim).
