They are supposed to be very good. A lil expensive, but good.

Hibernation is always risky. I live in Southern California and let my RES hibernate. But it doesn't get that cold here.

I recommend having some predator protection. I've lost two turtles to raccoons. So we now have a gate over the pond. Raccoons will go swimming if they need to.

If you put both of the turtles in a new habitat at the same time, you should be ok. Neither turtle will have a chance to claim it's territory. Just keep a close eye!

My females fight. Even when they're the same size, one always shows dominance. There are methods to break this but they are not garunteed. For instance, last summer, I was able to place both my females in the pond, but this summer, I couldn't break one of their habits.

It's possible they're Hybrid of RES X Cumberland, but I would need pictures with better light to be able to tell.

Yea watching turtles devour frogs is not nice, especially because they kind of rip them apart while they're alive. Plus, they're a lil toxic.

Just do a partial water change everyday.

But I recommend you always have a cheap aerator just in case for situations like this.

Box turtles can't swim very well. If it fell into deep water, it would drown and die.

Sorry, I was thinking they were some how close to pastels.

Unfortunetly they usually die young, that's why you don't see many adults.
