Well it is the 21st century.

I would think that their immune systems are the only thing that weakens after awhile, which is probably why most don't live to old age.

Basically they're both just larger versions of RES. Nicaraguan get to about "14 and Belize same, and sometime up to "16. They also have great color patterns. Nicaraguan: http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Articles/articlepics/guidetoexotics/Paul%20Vander%20Schouw%20Nicaraguan%20Slider%20HatchlingMade%...

I already have one, that's where my "10 Female RES is. I am going to create a large basking/sand area all the way around the pond to make it more like an eclosure. And then probably when they reach about "3, I'll place them in the pond with her. I am not worried about her attacking them, she has alw...

Nicaraguan and Belize slider

Just bought a Nicaraguan and a Belize slider from Paul V. They're each about 1 1/2 inchs. I'm going to have them shipped next week so I'll have time to set up my old tank. I can't wait until they arrive! I'm hoping at least one's a male. Female's are just to big(Especially Belize), and you have to w...

Filter for a 10-gallon tank

I will very soon be purchasing a Nicaraguan slider and a Belize slider, both 1 1/2 inches. Their first home is my 10-Gallon tank until they're big enough for the pond. So my question is what would be a perfect, and not expensive little filter for my tank? I found a perfect ZooMed one at Petco, but i...

White patches on shell.

Now, I'm just assuming it's because she's in the middle of a shed, but just wanted to make sure. Their is a white patch on her shell right above where her neck is. I caught this when she had just finished basking, so maybe it's just dry. Everything else is fine, she's eating, basking, swimming. What...

Anyone ever swim with their Turtle?

When I first got Kingler and Killer, I would put them in one of those plastic kiddie pools and I would get in as well. They used me as their basking spot and were actually not scared!

Anyone else do this with their turts?
