Hi all!
It's been a while I havent seen any filter deals.
I dont know which is best, I have read about the XP series from rena which seems to be pretty popular
and the FX serie from... Fluval i think.
and what about eheim, are their filters good?
which one is best?
is there any good deals out there on the internet?
I would love to have the one that is the most SILENT possible, since im in the same room as my tank!
so which one has the best performance/price/sound...

I cant find deals under 180$ including shippin for a XP3

I just ordered an xp3 off of amazon for around $130.00, which was the cheapest I could find brand new. After looking around for a week or so I found that filters are a lot cheaper through amazon, ebay, or craigslist. You just gotta keep checking and keep your eyes peeled. Best of luck to you!

Ebay is probably the best place for a good deal on an expensive canister. If you're on a budget, they'll also list knock-off filters that seem pretty reliable.

For a turtle, if you have the space... the FX5 is the filter to get.
Eheim is better but it's 2.5x the price
XP4 is just as good as the FX5, but the FX5 will handle a larger tank and holds more bio media so less frequent cleanings.

You can get an FX5 on ebay shipped for $180 new in box from an ebay store.
Also on ebay, you can get 4L of bio rings for $20
Big als, you can get a $1 filter media bag and 250mL of Purigen for $13
Big als, fluval blue fine pads for FX5 $4.49

Total setup including all media for FX5 = $220. You can't beat that.

hm... this deals kinda sounds good, but I am actually putting a 160$ budget on my next aquarium ( stand an aquarium are already bought, got 2 heaters and sand also) so, I am just missing a filter and maybe some decoration. Thats why I turned myself to the XP3. Petsolution has it for 150$, but then I live in canada and theycharge a 70$ shipping fee. so on the end of the line tis not worth it. on ebay, they are 125$, but they also charge a 50-60$ shipping fee, and finally on amazon, they sell it for 180$ (amazon.ca), thats why im looking for deals. but I have until august to find a filter, cuz im not moving till then. so if any of you guys find a great deal, tell me here! thx!
