I've seen some large ones in a Rubbermaid just to keep them until the shop keeper went home he would let them out to wander the shop every hour or so though
Well I dont know. You guy's might want to wait until jenaero or breigh pop's in, I believe they keep a couple of tortoises and know how to take care of them.
The majority of tortoises get very large and can easily weigh more than 30 or 40lbs. Most glass aquariums would be way too small for such a large and heavy animal. However the small Russian Tortoise and maybe the Greek Tortoise only grow to 6 to 10 inches and could be kept in a large aquarium but they should still be allowed to enjoy a large outdoor pen during the warmer months. What tortioses really need is surface area. It doesn't matter how deep their enclosure is since they don't swim or climb very well. Because of that, aquariums are not the best thing to keep them in.
ooooooooh. So if you live in a very cold place, you couldn't give it a summer pen right? Then you'd have to keep it in a spare room! A room all to itself...lol
