is my turtle pyramiding?

is my turtle's shell pyramiding? i noticed a lot of people's turtle's shell is smooth and not so high. do they have higher shells when theyre youngeR? and do their shells become smooth and less curved up when they are adults?

yep. Looks like it's pyramiding. cut out the high protien. As far as I know, the shell won't return to normal, but you can prevent it from getting any worse with a proper diet.

So to much protien will cause there shell to grow higher?

You may want to do a search in the forum for pyramiding. I know there are a few posts that discuss it and the causes.

yes, too much protein causes pyramiding because the turtles are growing too quickly.

the shell grows too quickly. It doesn't have time to shed before the schutes underneath grow out.
