I agree they are hard to take pics of! One trick I've learnt that works quite well is go to the other side of the room, and take a picture with the flash ON. Being so far away, the flash won't bother your turts eyes and you won't get reflection off the glass, but you have the camera speed that you need for a turtle that's always in motion. With zoom, you can get some good closeup pics!

I think that is just light reflection. Her scute lines are black and she is not getting any supplements
