The one picture of the Tank is Hanible's tank. It sits in my laundary room which is an outside room.

The picture can't be viewed. I think you need to make the album public.

Those pictures are neat! Is that alluminum looking thing your setup, if so how big is that thing, do you bring it indoors when it gets cold out, and how big is hannibal currently?

Thanks
Yes that is a metal 100 gallon tank. I think it is 4' by 2' if I remember correctly. and the bottom of the tank is a foot off the ground. Changing the water is the easy part, we put a valve on the bottom and all I do is hook a hose to it and it drains. Hanible out grew the 20 gallon tank that he was in so about 6 or 7 months ago we set him up in this one. Hanible is about 8" long. I live in central Florida, so I probably will not bring him in this winter, It will depend on just how cold it gets. If it goes below too much below 40 I will.

Very very interesting, glad to see someone with a good head on their shoulders as well. Is Hannibal a female or a male? Telling by the overall body type I would say female but I can't exactly say that with complete confidence.

Nice turtles. Hanible is going to shed (the white on some of the scutes)?

Orginally I thought Hanible was a boy, but after I read some of the posts on this website I am not sure. I am currently trying to get pictures to post and see if anyone can help me determine this question. Hanible is stubborn and doesn't like to be held too much, and his claws are so sharp that they can and have broken skin. So it is going to take a little bit to get pictures. Hanible does shed often. I find scales form the bottom of his shell every now and then.

Tini Is it bad for him to be that dark?

check out this site about sexing your turtle.. it has pictures to help you determine the sex of your turtle.

http://www.picolio.com/staticpages/index.php/AquaticTurtleSex

A turtle's shell gets darker as it gets older.. My larger one is mostly black with some green and yellow on it. Nothing to worry about.. just a different shell.. they are all individuals after all :)

nice turtle and set up love new ideas I am in fla. also but without an under water heater or something I will not leave nena outside during the winter months to scared of R.I. also be very careful with out a top a big bird might fly off with ur lady?hawks are awful here.buzzards and owls too,not to mention cats and dogs. I use hardware cloth to top it off.
