I always thought Simba Jr was a boy from what I read but after seeing alot of pictures on here, his nails look much much smaller than that of a male so now I'm questioning it! So here are his paws and his little butt.

Thank you and apologies for not being able to figure it out in advance!

He is also about a year and a half I think.

I am not a tail expert, but the claws are almost making me say female.

Looks pretty big for a year and a half.

Anyways, the nails give it away....he is a she!

You will know for sure when she lays eggs, although it may be a while...

I adopted him from a guy who didn't have enough time for him and that was early in the summer and he said she (that sounds so weird now :p) was about a year but I really don't have an idea. So I just assumed!

I'm a bit scared now. I'm terribly a squeemish person, I might not be able to handle the eggs!

Speaking of eggs, how do you even make a lay area when using an aquarium ? Only thing I can think of is a recessed basking spot filled with dirt or something.

I agree, I think you have a GIRL!!! Oh and I think most people end up taking their girls outside in the garden or park or someplace with nice soft dirt when they start acting as if they need to lay (acting restless, digging alot in the tank, I think they sometimes go off their food....) but i haven't had to deal with that....YET.
