You're pictures are HUGE. XD

Anyway, looks good for a temporary tank. Later on when you have the bigger one you can use it as a feeding tank if you want to keep the bigger one cleaner.

The UVB does look rather far from the tank itself. It should be better to get it closer to the basking area and water in general.

You'll want a stronger filter. Something rated for 3x the size of the tank you'll have (so with a 40g you'll want a filter made for a 120g). This is to accommodate the amount of waste turtles produce. I suggest a canister filter as they don't take up as much swimming space as in-tank filters do. That's really personal preference though.

The heater you have now should be just fine for your 40g to come.

Looks great! I like the little Buddha too ha ha!

Do you keep your tank in your room? Looks like its at the foot of a bed. One thing I found that made my life way easier was to put my lights onto a timed powerbar. That way they just click on and off automatically and I know my turtle is always getting his 12 hours of light.

I do the same thing! XD I had totally forgotten to mention that. o_o"

It's really good for busy days. Plus for some people who sleep in (like me), it really helps so we don't have to get up so early to turn on the lights.

Is that black lamp secure enough? I'd be worried about it coming loose.

4 inches is too close. Specifically, which UVB bulb do you have in that white lamp? In other words, is it the reptisun 5.0? Repti-glo 5.0?
