Boba Eats Lettuce! What?!

So this is a surprise. According to everything I have researched, lookup, and read about soft shell turtles; they are carnivores. Well according to Austin Turtle Page's spiny soft shell turtle care sheet, Boba (is only a couple months old) is a odd ball, off-the-wall softie. He apparently likes lettuce! I gave Toku some red leaf and decided to give a piece to Boba to see if he would even use it as shelter. I honestly didn't expect him to bite it, much less continue to eat it! Again Boba is a baby turtle! Well he did, so I had to take a pic of this. By the way, he is not camera shy. Here is Boba eating his first piece of red leaf lettuce in his short life.......

He nipped at it all day being his size he didn't eat whole lot of it but I keep giving a small piece and he keeps grazing on it. I'd say he likes red leaf not sure about roman or green leaf tho.
