New Setup (Finally!)

After months of help from you guys (thank you, thank you, thank you!) I finally got my tank set up and picked up my turtle this evening. Say hi to Tangers (My 2 year old named her, no clue where he got it from :P). The girl at Petco said she was pretty sure it's a female based on tail/nail length so i'm going with that. So far she hasn't quite figured out the dock so she's just been hanging out under it, i'm just afraid she's going to get stuck in the holder for it. I picked her up and put her on the dock a few times but the second i let go she bolted for the water. I can't thank you all enough for all your help/input/advice. If you need me I'll be stalking the feeding forum trying to figure out a feeding schedule/routine.

Nice! You can put some food on her dock everyday to try to get used to being up there. Might I recommend Omega One turtle sticks.

Good to know, thanks. She's actually pretty good using the dock when we're not home or not by the tank. however, when we walk towards the tank to take a picture she "freaks out" and gets back in the water. I still need to figure out feeding quantity/times because she always seems like she's hungry. Not a bad thing because i've read how some people can't get their turtles to eat anything. I'll probably take some pictures of what i'm giving her and how often to ask more advice, I just want to make sure i'm not overfeeding/starving her.

Turtles all of them are constant beggers. It's easy to over feed. Most turtles are skittish when basking. None of mine will let me get close when their out of the water basking.

I feed her twice a day so I'm not worried about starving her but at the same time i don't want to over feed her to the point where she's going to double in size in a month :P

I overfed in the beginning. Its easy to do. Does she eat red leaf lettuce?

Haven't tried red leaf yet, it's been mostly romaine and carrots. I just got some kale yesterday so I'll try to give her that tomorrow. I'll prob get red leaf next week

Red leaf is the best for her. Carrots are fine also.

Looks very nice. I used to sort out pellets in a pill box when I know others might feed them.
