All of it is designed amazingly!
You did a great job and probably worked really hard too!
But it all pays off right?!
I bet your turtles are having the time of their lives and are very greatful to you!
Good job! I love it!

Thank you michael247 and myrtle1123! They really do enjoy themselves....
The real challenge is going to be when they get bigger. I think it's important to keep them "entertained" in their habitat, interested and busy in their surroundings.

mohamadfar, it may seem hard for you to set up a good habitat for your turt in your part of the world but keep in mind most of the things I use in my tank came from hardware stores and not pet shops.......just try to be creative and think like a turtle. :) It took me a long time before I was happy with my design.....keep trying, you'll get there!

I'm going to be posting a detailed thread on how I set up my basking ramp shortly (provided the "real world" stops interupting me). I'm sure you could find the materials to follow my plan......stay tuned.

mohamdfar, until you get your basking platform setup, can you put something in the tank for the turtles to rest on? Something that floats on the surface is what you'd look for. A piece of tree bark would be good IF you can find some that hasn't been treated with chemicals like insecticides and fungicides. Tree bark intended for a fish tank or other aquatic habitat would be good. The very best bark for this purpose is cork bark - it holds up very well in water and turtles like it (again, be SURE it hasn't be treated with chemicals.) If you can't find bark, maybe you can put some plastic plants in there or an artificial water lily pad.

Also, can you take your turtle out of the tank for an hour or two every day so its shell can dry off? It needs to dry off - top and bottom - almost every day to stay healthy. You can keep your turtle in a big wash tub with a towel in the bottom or some other safe place while he's drying.

That's going to be a really nice tank, by the way, when it's all set up. Be sure and show us pictures as it progresses. :D

Well, outside of a few rocks getting knocked loose from when Beaker flies off the basking ramp, all is well and holding up.
I'm thinking of making up another set, this time using mosaic tile.
Something like this:

I'll have to figure out how much I would need, this could get expensive.

Has anyone ever tried using the tile that is already put together in sheets (the kind you would just add grout to if you were using it for flooring)? I was just thinking it would make a good cover for a basking area/ramp because it has toe holds on it and the water would drain out of it, too.

I would think that it would deteriorate over time as it seems to be made of some sort of cloth......
