Hey guys, tomorrow I am rescuing 2-3 turtles from a ten gallon tank. There are five in the tank, and they have to climb on top of each other to be able to get out of the water.
I'm going to do a ton of more research tonight, but does anyone have general information on them?
Thank you so much.
I am so nervous.

Pretty much identical to a RES, as I understand. They can even interbreed with RES.

I also heard they stay a little smaller than RES by like an inch?
For now they will be with my baby Nemo and then in December or possible next month I'm getting a 150 gallon pond.
Is there any way I need to introduce them or will they be fine? The rescues are probably an inch or two wider than Nemo right now. He has them in a 10 gallon tank and there's three that seem pretty small and those where the ones I planned to get.

Even average RES size can vary by a few inches, so think about their "max" size.

For now I'm getting them just to save them from going to another home that leaves all five in the 10 gallon tank.
I'm hoping I'll have a few months/years before they start gettin full size. Once I start working in January I'll be able to provide them with better care than what I am capable of now.

I want to yell at him so bad. I don't understand how people can have turtles and think something like this is okay. They don't even have a light, heater, or a filter.

I may end up taking all five for 30 dollars. I've been thinking about it a lot and I'm worried where they might go if I don't take them all. I need ideas for big temporary enclosures. I was thinking maybe a kiddy pool because we have temperatures outside right now of 63-86F every day and some days it goes up to the low 90's.

I know that five turtles is a huge responsibility, well 6 including Nemo. I promised myself I would get one more turtle and that it would be a rescue. But, these turtles are being so badly treated and they are really calling to my heart. I'm trying to come up with enclosures for them now, and I can not imagine them going to a family that thinks a ten gallon tank is okay. All animals have a very special place in my heart.
I really hope no one thinks I'm being selfish by wanting all five, because that is not the case at all.

Thank you everyone who has given me advice and thank you to anyone who may post after this.

If my mother would let me, I would. The kiddy pool will have chicken wire over the top to keep them in and predators out. We got them about four hours ago. I need help identifying them. I'm not sure they are all Yellow Bellied.
