My turtle, Tucker is about 19 years old. I'm just curious if anyone has older turtles? She (unfortunate that her previous owner gave her a male name) is only 7 inches in length but I think that's because she lived in a 20 gallon tank for most of her life.

I'm curious to know how big your older turtles have become? Maybe we can find the oldest  on the board =D

Let's see here... Sadie is approximately between 5 and 7 years old. We just got her a few months ago, but, she's a pretty big girl already (8 inch shell).

Hurricane and Typhoon are 2 and a half years old. We've had them since their shells were barely over an inch long!
Spike - Egyptian mau mix, 8 years old
Phryne - Japanese bobtail, 9 months old
Hurricane - RES, 8 yo, 6 1/2 in. long
Typhoon - RES/Map hybrid, 8 yo, 7 in. long
Sadie - RES, 20 yo, 10 in. long
Sophie - Colombian red tail boa, 5 yo, 5 ft. long

Neat! Is the smaller one a male? My 18 year old is a female but she's still only 7 inches!

In another post, I think Floydster said both are females.

Mine are just 3 months old. Long ways to go. I hope they reach about 30 to 40 years old.

   We have a red eared slider that is 45 years old!!! My wife got her as a silver-dollar sized baby on her sixth birthday. Her mother fed it hamburger, lettuce, cheese etc. instead of the nutrionless food that was available at the time. "Scooter" was originally thought to be a boy but eventually the shape of the shell showed that she was a female. When she first layed an egg at age 40 her sex was confirmed.

Wow, you must share a lot of interesting history with your girl ;)

My male RES has been living with me for the past 19 years. It was very little when it was bought and I'm not sure how old it was at the time it was bought. Time really flies. Till now, it is still very active. Whenever I walk past it, it will 'chase' after me in the container.

My mother 86 years olds bought a dime store turtle for my brother when he was two years old. my brother is now 63 years old. That makes the turtle 61 years old. He is a red eared slider.
