I know there are quite a few Midwesterner's on this forum. If you ever find yourself on the northside of Chicago on a friday night you might want to visit Big Joe's. This bar has turtle racing at 10PM every friday. You can win free beers, t-shirts, and even a trip to Vegas.

I used to frequent this bar a lot a few years back. I found myself there again by sheer chance last night. Here's a picture I took of some friends there back in 2007.



When you buy a drink you get a raffle ticket. They will randomly pick 6 ticket numbers per race and you go up and randomly draw for your "racing" RES. The RES are placed in the center of the table and the first one to crawl to the outer area wins. First place winner gets a t-shirt, last place winner gets a free beer. They run 6-7 races a night.

Nice wish they had something like that here

Can you entice your racing turtle to go outside the outer area by secretly carrying a pellet in your hand and waving it near the turtle? haha

I think others would notice
