Hey guys. It's been well over a year since I've posted here. Haven't been active at all but hope to stick around since school is wrapping up and free time is coming. Thought I'd give you guys a update on Ranger. He's doing great, better then ever. If you guys remember I was having a issue with him shedding. Not to long after I posted that thread he began to shed his shell. After a complete shed his shell is looking brand new! He still lives in his 40 gallon breeder as it's still large for his 4.5in shell. Planning on rebuilding his ATBA and maybe go into a tile floor as his eggcrate floor is starting to bowl in. And he has a new friend, bought him 3 minnows one day and he ate 2 of them and left one to swim and live with him. He never swims after him even when he swims right into his face. He's been with him for almost a year now.

Best picture I could get of his fish friend. He's always swimming around.


The water looks a little yellow in this picture... I think it was my closet light shining into the water that made it look like this. In person it's crystal clear.

Thanks Steve! And yeah lol I remember also. I didn't know nothing now I've learned alot thanks to this forum. And it's a old reptofilter I used in my old planted tank. I loved that aquarium until something happened and all my plants died, spent a lot of time and money on it. So after I just put it in rangers tank so it just doesn't sit there.

Found this picture of the planted tank. Sadly I never took a picture of it in it's prime. Had it for over a year and this picture was taken right when everything started to die. Had a betta, 5 ghost shrimp, 2 snails and a ton of plants, co2 system, and a bunch of other stuff. I know I had about 4 layers of different plant substrate. I really have no idea what happened, plants started to brown and die, betta died, snails died, and shrimps died also. I've been wanting to start up another one but this aquarium including my old 20 gallon holds my pet gerbils now.
