Trust me I caught them in the act!!! Now what to do about it? My male is a mississippi map and female is a res! omg I still can't get that picture out of my head....... I just put them in my 300 gallon tank! I'm not going to separate them they have been best friends for almost 2 years. Now I know why. Any ideas?Does turtle spew float? Maybe that's what has been floating. on tank surface ?

It kind of drifts, so I would imagine some of it would settle and some would float. Hopefully maps are not as aggressive as RES, but I would keep an eye on nesting behavior now.

can res and maps be bred? And what signs should I be looking for Steve. ? I had a huge Basking dock failure and in the process of building another one from real wood this time! The wood I bought said one Piece what I didn't see was the fine print that said one"pieces might be glued. Yes it bowed and ended up in the tank! Crap you live and learn so I bought 2 pieces of wood this time its solid wood. Used bar making epoxy resin on the new one need to get plexi ramp tomorrow. let epoxy cure and then I will post some pictures. My turts. are loving the new tank so much they decided to have sex in it! WOW! I guess I should have put this in my 300 gallon rubbermaid stock tank thread. Oh well.
