I'm thinking about buying a turtle from Dave P on Kingsnake . com Its a hatchling dbt. Do you think it would be ok to put it in the tank with my male mississippi about 3 inches and my female res about 4.5 inches? If not I could put it in my 40gal gallon breeder until it gets bigger. I know I would have to watch them but input on this would be nice. Thanks.

I know others have done it, it should be fine with the usual aggression concerns of having multiple terrapins. I would probably feed them separately, depending on the DBT's size.

I forgot to mention - watch out for areas that might trap a smaller turtle. Shallow areas might also be dangerous as a hatchling might get pinned down accidentally.

DB4L will know more about breeders. I might get one from someone here on the forum in the future :D

Yea im working on breeding them but have been met with limited success. Most people had problems with dbts laying this year. Next spring is another year to see what happens. I currently own 6 dbts from Dave all varrious ages. I pick up one hatchling from him every year.

COOL How does he ship them? The reason I ask is that i seen a youtube vid that showed one delivered in a small piece of sheet inside of paper sent in a bubble pack envelope. I believe seller had the same name. Any tips on buying one. I think they are just wonderful and would like to buy one soon. Just got laid off due to weather so now I might have to wait. Do you also own cdbt or speckled? Sorry about all the questions. Thanks.
