Hi - I have a baby painted turtle and would like to get a friend to go with him. Looking for anyone who has info about the Rio Grand RES, I haven't found much online. Are they pretty much like any other RES? How big do they get? Any info, tips, etc would be very much appreciated!! Also, any tips on other turtles that would be good for a beginner, and would pair well with an eastern painted would be great! I don't want anything too big (ie Cooters can get up to 14"!! Too big!)

They are just like regular Red Ears. They can get about 12" for the females.

Turtles are solitary animals. If you get 2 and they start fighting, you'll have to get 2 large tanks.
