Box Turtle and Tortoise Discussion :: preventing overgrown beaks?

hey. i was reading through and wasn't sure your question actually got answered. I took my Sid to the vet awhile back for a trim, and the vet told me he was actually just fine. His beak is quite a bit longer than apollo's. He said it doesn't really need trimmed until it gets closer to the "chin".

This was a herp vet that has been VERY good with my other turtle care needs, so I trust his opinion.
