I've thought about getting a tortoise. But I cant make up my mind about which one suits me best...

I live in southern california, where the average climate is mild. However, at night it could get a little cold. Outside, I have a free space of fertile dirt that could be used as its main habitat. It is 5 feet by 3 feet. During cold nights or a harsh winter month, i will be able to let it sleep inside in a rubbermaid storage box. I also want a tortoise that is easy to care for/doesnt get too big. So is there a tortoise that is right for me?

Thanks!
