Why are box turtles so expensive to buy??

Just curious...

Also, the site we all love to hate is giving away a free RES with purchase of a Box turtle... How irresponcible <sp LOL

I found box turtles online for $30 each. I asked about shipping too Canada and it's $450... I guess some off the rarer colors are more money, probley because they can give them a cool name like designer dogs and charge way more ;)
My favorite things in the world:
1 res, 3 cats, 3 bunnies, 1 dog, 2 african clawed frogs, guppies, pleco, 30+ fancy mice, 2 hermit crabs and 4 small humans

what site is that? I'm not planning on getting one, because I have 3 beautiful babies already. I'm just curious, and yes that is sick....giving free res away with purchase. That makes me so mad!
