Found a box turtle on our driveway this morning

Our yard is completely fenced, and the driveway goes past the fence into the backyard. When my daughter let the dogs out, they went right to the turtle sitting on the driveway. We are in Missouri, so it looks like he's a native species. I think he's a three toed box turtle. We'llrelease him, but I don't know where. I can't put him back in my yard, the dogs will bother him to death, and could hurt him. We don't really have an area near our house that he could go, but there is a park with a lake a couple miles down the street. Would that be ok?

I'd contact a local reptile rescue... they can check out the turtle and release him/her to locations they have scouted out.

No, I think not. Did you read my signature line?? I have enough going on, lol.

Sorry, I have never bred turtles, or any other animal. Hopefully someone else can help with those and the health questions.
