I have a RES that I found on a highway in Arizona. Her name is Roxy and she lives in a pond in my back yard. I look forward to engaging in turtle talk. Regards

If she were wandering away from water, she might have been looking for a place to nest. See if you can feel for some eggs.

I don't know how to feel about taking a wild animal in. On the other hand, RES are non-native species there so it might be better for the fauna there.

I go by the state being talked about at the time. Invasive / non- native I say taking one in making captive is better. Natural habitat range for a RES I ask to return it to the wild . To me must be case by case , state by state.
