Hello everyone, I have huge female RES that lives outdoors in AZ and in the past month she's refused raw shrimp, live fish or commercial turtle food. She appears interested, then moves her head away. We rescued her in 2019, and she has always been a big eater. She normally does not eat much or at all from December until March because she wants to lay eggs, but it's April and she's still not eating. Also, she has access to a large piece of land she can use to lay eggs or just take a walk, but she is not digging to lay eggs and still refuses to eat.

She lives in an outside pond (500 gallons) with pump, filter and a heater in the winter. We did move her last year to a different pond, her old pond was no longer stable and we were concerned it may cave in.
Now she is safe in a man-made pond, basks often as always, remains friendly, active, and greets my husband and me daily, but refuses to eat even the most enticing food. I cannot figure out what is wrong. Also, she hasn't produced an egg since last March, and I'm afraid she's egg bound? Any advice or info is so appreciated, thanks
Deb

Being gravid annually is not always a given but you can definitely be able to check with a simple exam. Is it possible there are other food sources she;s snacking on?
