urgent need help!!!!!!!!!!!!

my friend has a baby turtle in a tank with a large turtle. we have found out today that the baby turtle has no tail and no nails left ( bitten off) !!!
we dont know what to do and we need help fast!.

we cant make any pictures.
the baby turtle is just floating in the water, STILL ALIVE.

ANY ADVICE WOULD BE HIGHLY APRECIATED

I would take the baby to the vet immediately! Even if the baby isn't bleeding, you don't know if infection will set in because of the open wound.
Also, if the baby is fine, make sure there are separate habitats for them.

Tell your friend to get that small one out of there! It's common sense! If he's still alive he needs to see a vet asap!

This is why we're constantly telling people not to house turts of different sizes together.

Sounds like the turtles need to be seperated. Followed by a trip to the vet.

Wow such a tragic incident

Is it totalyy bitten off?
If so try finding the bitten pieces ( unless the big turtle ate it)

So sad

Vet is the only option

Separate the smaller turtle. Are the nail beds (where the nail comes out) still intact? Is enough left of the tail so that he can still poop?

I'd clean the wounds if there are any (diluted betadine) and keep him in clean water. You might want to keep him out of the water a bit to let some air on them as well. Find a herp vet if the wounds look bad.
