Hey everyone, I am concerned about my two hatchling turtles. I want to show you pictures of my 2 turtles and hope that everything looks okay.

I am also concerned about the thick black lines between the scutes. Is that a sign that I am overfeeding? If so, how much should I feed them? I feed them 4 pellets a day & Romaine lettuce leaves.

How big is your turtle? 1.5 - 2 inches
How long have you had it? About 1.5 months

What is the water temperature? 80
Did you use a thermometer? Yes
Are you using a water heater? Yes
How much water is in there? 6-7 Gallons (10 gallon tank)
Are you using a water conditioner? Yes (ReptiSafe)
Are you using any filtration? Yes

What is the basking temperature? ~95
Is there a basking light? Yes (they bask a lot)
Is there a basking platform that is easy to climb on? Yes
What kind is it or what is it made out of? Petco Dock
Is there a UVB light? No (But I do cover 1 Reptomin Pellet in RepCal Calcium/VitD3 powder once a week)

What have you been trying to feed it? Reptomin Pellets & Romaine Lettuce
When was the last time your turtle ate? Yesterday night

How big is the tank/pond/enclosure? 10 gallon tank
Is the tank near a window? No
Is the tank in a room with a lot of activity? No

Have you read the Basic Care section? yes
Have you searched the forums for similar situations? yes

Is there any other unusual activity/symptoms? no.

I hope everything is ok. My turtles are VERY active at least.

I know that the deep black lines between the scutes are signs of fast growth caused by over eating, how much do you feed the little guy?

Each turtle eats 4 Reptomin (regular size) pellets a day. I also add 2 leaves of Romaine Lettuce for them to nibble on which they love. They finish eating the leaves within half an hour. They will also sometimes nibble on the cuttlebone piece I have in there.

Pick up a new toothbrush and give it a gentle scrub... see if it cleans up a bit (it looks a bit reddish to me).
