I have two, but the problem turtle is about an inch and a half
How long have you had it?
I have had it for about half a year.
What is the water temperature? Due to location, the temp wavers between a low of 76 to a daily high of 83.
Did you use a thermometer? Yes, it is a temperature prob used for science experiments.
Are you using a water heater? Yes, it is very small though.
How much water is in there? 896 cubic inches of water which is about 3.75 gallons
Are you using a water conditioner? Yes, I am using API Turtle Sludge Destroyer https://www.amazon.com/API-Turtle-Sludge-Destroyer-8-Ounce/dp/B0117U21QW
Are you using any filtration? Yes, I just started using a custom made filtration unit from some cheap pump that uses several stages including a bionet for bacteria growth and fluval foam and fluval water polisher. I clean the tank every week/two weeks. The filter can keep pristine clean water for about a week and then it starts to get cloudy due to uneaten food accumulating/decomposing on the bottom.
What is the basking temperature? No idea but probably in the 90s
Is there a basking light? Yes
Is there a basking platform that is easy to climb on? Yes
What kind is it or what is it made out of? It is a rock, flat and has 2 large holes in it. Some green algea grows on it but I control it.
Is there a UVB light? No
What have you been trying to feed it? I have been using turtle food http://www.petsmart.com/reptile/food-and-care/food/all-living-things-aquatic-turtle-floating-sticks-276.html
When was the last time your turtle ate? They eat every day usually. I feed at around 10pm every day. I give them 20 mins to eat then lights off for them and usually me too.
How big is the tank/pond/enclosure? 16x10x8 inches
Is the tank near a window? No. It is nested in my bookshelf
Is the tank in a room with a lot of activity? Not really. Noise levels are low.
Have you read the Basic Care section? Yes, and I think my situation is different; see pictures.
Have you searched the forums for similar situations? Not that I am aware of. I tried searching.
Is there any other unusual activity/symptoms? So there are because I pay too much attention to details. Firstly there are two turtles, one male one female and both are 1.5 inches and have been together since birth. The male turtle is totally ok and is very active, loves to dart around and swim+ sleep. Not a lot of basking but does so occasionally. Eats plenty. The female turtle is the problem and why I am posting. She is very inactive and barely swims. She has a weird carapace damage (not from a fall) and she spends her entire day, every day basking on the rock, sleeping or hibernating (I cant tell really). The only time I get her to move is by forcing her into the water so that she wakes up and eats. But every time she returns to the rock after eating and falls asleep. On top of that, she has a damage shell by the looks of it.
