hello! i have a turtle that is currently recovering from fungal shell infection, and retained scutes, and hes recovering well. however, i notice that most of his shed is in the form of tiny pieces. he sheds a few larger pieces of scute, but the vast majority of it is just little flakes. is this normal for a turtle with retained scutes? a good sign? i recently scrubbed his shell with a brush and applied his usual medicine, but ive done that before and theres never been this many particulates in the water. my two filters seem to be cleaning it up fairly well, but i went in there and scooped out as much as i could with my net. thanks!

Yes it's normal. Definitely if there has been fungus around. General rule... as long he's shedding, its a good sign.
