Thoughs / opinions ?

As far as updating goes, I figure I'll make a new reply to this every 2 months if not every month.

Edit: I also just realized I've had him for almost 3yrs (2yrs 8mo to be exact).

Great idea! A lot of people ask about guestimations for how long they grow or how old their turtle might be. It would be cool if we could get several participants!

Most people when I posted this before were like (I wish I started this when mine was young). I don't really know what made me do it, I just did it but have been lacking some times it keeping it current but I figure if I do it at the very least every 3 months it will give good growth rates. Mind you though each turtle grows in their own unique way but Niko seems to be doin great IMO.

Edit: Size should never really determine age even though it can give a fair idea.

Thanks for the update. I think there's a topic somewhere with some sizes/ages/weights, though not nearly as frequent as your record keeping.

Well I use to crete topics like this from time to time but never have a consolodated one, that's what I plan on doin with this one though. Making it Nikos permanent growth charting post. Like I said, if I can remember I'll try to update it once a month / every two months.

I also don't post here as much as I use to which is something else I'm trying to change.

Any and all updates are great. Also good to see a long-time members popup once in awhile :)

I wana hijack my own post for a minute and sidetrack for a min.

Given where Nikos at in age and size I should only be feeding what, every other day with like veggies / calcium between feedings ?

(Only posted this here because of the posted growth chart.)

Veggies can be given every day, pellets every other day (or half the amount everyday). He should have enough calcium from that.

Should work then since I still can't locate any cuttlebone or something that doesnt have backing.

You can cut the backing off. I get my cuttlebone in the bird section for like a quarter

To much of a PIA for me, I'd rather just pay a bit extra for cuttlebone thats already had it removed. Just can't find it and I know it's sold somewhere.

What did you use to weigh your turtle? I don't think normal scales can weigh something small like a turtle.

Kitchen scale, measures in grams and ounces.
