Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

What should I do with my turtle to keep him safe during the storm? I'm n Georgia and we are mostly just getting the tropical storm but we are still trying to set up emergency supplies and things for if it floods or there are tornadoes. I was thinking of putting him in a container but idk if should/can take him with us in the closet we plan to go to if there are tornadoes? Anyone got some tips and how to keep him safe/prepare for the storm?

Do you have a generator? In most cases, just power everything off and dry dock your turtle. If it will last more than a day, have some freshwater on the side for some re-hydrating/eating but RES can stay out of water for very long periods. Some place dark will help him stay calm.
