Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

So my female RES is in a 200 gallon tank that we moved her into recently. We haven’t gotten a heater for it yet because we haven’t found one suitable. Would two heaters work? I’m just worried that I won’t be able to regulate the temp. Thanks!!

Yes, you can use 2. Just always double check the temps. If your indoor temps is warm, and you have an older turtle, you can probably get away with just one.

steve, my turtle is a little older (about 8 ) but our house is pretty cold. We have to have a "night lamp" for our snake to keep him warm during the night. So I will probably get one to start with since it is starting to get warm again. thx :)

I actually use three. I have one that's meant for my tank's size and a couple of other smaller ones.

RES normally sleep underwater, not sure if a heat lamp could help regulate the water temps. Some people have covers for their tanks as well.
