so i have 2 redeared sliders and they are at least 5 years old but im not sure exactly how old they are, they generally sleep in their water but i noticed recently that the larger of the two spends all of its time on the basking raft even at night when i turn the lights off and he doesnt jump down to swim when its feeding time either and the smaller turtle acts hysterical for food in comparison

is my turtle old and dying? i read that scute rings can give an estimate of age but he doesnt have scute rings at all and he doesnt seem to have any signs of being sick

Having rings around the scutes is actually not a good thing for RES. I would just keep an eye out for other symptoms. What are their genders? Could one be harassing the other?
