Baby Map Turtle Question

We found two baby map turtles at different times this week in our pool who must have lost their way. We rinsed them off and put them in a tank until we figure out what to do with the them. I have read conflicting information. Some sites say baby turtles once lost have no chance of surviving in their own and others say to not keep wild turtles found. Thoughts??

Also, we are feeding them aquatic hatchling turtle food but they don’t seem to eat it. Any advice on what else we could try?

Thanks!

Generally it is not a good idea or legal to keep wildlife. Is there a natural habitat for them nearby? I would carefully check around the pool and yard for more since a clutch usually has more than 2 eggs.

As for food, try live earthworms, maybe some boiled chicken meat or tuna fish.
