Hello all!

I made above tank terrarium area on top of my 70 gallon tank for my sliders and they have hated the substrate choices I've made so far. I've tried plain old plexi with carpet, rock and cork board, and jungle earth. They will at least come up the ramp to the jungle earth. Then they poke around and just hang out on the ramp. So I was curious what a good sub would be for the picky buggers.

Thanks!

Surprised they didn't like the bark. How does the area look? Does it drain if it gets wet?

I am too... They touch and just about jump out of it. lol They stick to the landing and the rocks.

I actually just posted some pics of the tank...

I was think of getting some plantation soil for them. They've been digging a lot in the tank itself so I'm wondering now if they don't like the bark because it not very good for digging in.

EDIT: No the basking side is 1/4 plexiglass. It isn't vented at all.

I'd remove the gravel. Do you know what does the temperature read at?

I was going to go with bark as well, right now I'm using the reptile "rug" and I think it's made by zoomed but I could be wrong. It's like a thin carpet for reptiles and it comes in light brown or green. It's held up for 5 years with the exception of a small stain from when my RES decided to puke. But it dries quickly and does not trap any odors.
