i just went into my room and noticed that on the side of the tank that the filter is at, theyre are piled up bubbles suroundinng the filter, the bubbles arent big or anything, they kind of look like when you wash a cup with dish washing soap and you fill it up with water how theyres bubbles in the cup, i probably shouldnt be worried but im still kind of concerned...
its a cheap filter that i bought for 24 bucks, its a whisper 10 something filter i lost the manual so i dont know the exact name..i just find out weird because the filter normally doesnt do that oh and another thing i just went into my room again and theyre was no more bubbles?

what can this be?
1.1.0Trachemys scripta elegans
0.0.1Sternotherus odoratus
1.1.0Platemys platycephala
0.1.0Pelomedusa subrufa subrufa
0.0.1.Graptemys pseudogeographica

the bubble were probably just air bubbles created from the splashing, i get those once in a while, they are usually gone in 15 mins though

Again, I said this before... tiny little bubbles, when they stay in the tank (2-3 days), cling to the shell. Although they pop, it gets replaced by other tiny bubbles. And that helps contribute to shell rot given the right conditions for the bacteria to grow.

Try to minimize the tiny bubbles. I didnt think much of it before until my turt got a minor shell rot. Now, I fixed the problem by washing the filter and putting it in dry and maintaining water quality by regularly changing it.

I know it varies from owner to owner but personally, I think tiny bubbles that cling are bad.

If your filter is a Whisper 10, then it is made for fish tanks no larger than 10 gallons. Even if your fish is 1 inch in a 10g tank, the filter is not powerful enough to clean the mess turtles make.
