I'm not sure specifically, its one of those reptibulb ones and it said on the package UVA/UVB. And the reason the lettuce was sitting on the area like that is because I laid it there while I was giving them each one piece at a time.

Oh okay good. I would make sure that you got the right kind of bulb. Some bulbs say full spectrum but that doesn't mean UVA/UVB. It has to actually say UVB on the package.

In this photo, can your power strip fall in the water?? I would move that.

Other than that looks good.

That's what I'm thinking. That wouldn't be good at all!

I've been meaning to post these for a while ..so here goes.......

ATBA ^

Basking Area + lights ^

Ramp^

How the tile sits
Image
Windows
Image
Hole for heat lamp
Image
Fan!Image
and the whole setup.

Theres 4 lights the 2 end ones are for extra light, the one that sits on top is for heat, and the middle one is for UVB
The little computer/muffin fan is the keep fresh air in and heat out. (on a timer)
There is a groove all around the ATBA to keep it in place.
Theres doors on either side for feeding.

And thats it! Thanks

Is that removable? Or are the doors big enough to give you access to the tank during cleaning?

the power strip is stick on to the tank already with a 3M taping and it will be quite difficult even for me to remove it from the tank :) so it should be perfectly safe. no worry for that :)

No, I wasn't worried about the turtles knocking it off. I was curious about how easy it is to clean your tank now that that is on there. I designed my ATBA so that it was easily removable giving me full access to the tank.

actorial - that's a huge upgrade, amazing & beautiful!

notoch351 - how did you construct your ATBA? the middle lights, where did you get those? how many gallons is your tank? what kind of filter do you use? beautiful set up by the way.

dun think Gmil and Emil able to pull it down though. 3M is really sticky if you ever use their stuff before. very reliable product. it's not difficult to clean my tank actually. there is still lots of space up there for my hand to go in to scrub and move the things in tank.the previous ATBA with the 15 gallon on top is really a headache though. but current one is simple and nice and easy for me to clean.

francinemarie - thanks! im still thinking of getting much more bigger tank in the near future. lol!

Yup it lifts right off. Which can be a pain because it takes 2 people.

Well, I Drew up the plans with the dimensions and where I wanted everything to go and then my dad built it (I helped J). The lights are just plain plastic under cabinet lights from Canadian tire, but I’m sure any hardware store carries them. My tank in about 65 gallons and I have a rena xp2. And Thanks

aww it's another awesome ATBA! very creative with the using a computer fan ;). i wish someone could help me build a nice one. i thought the lights were plastic cabinet lights, they looked like it. do they also serve as UVBs?
