Habitat - Indoor :: New ATBA

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

That cork was just floating in there. I installed the plexi glass ramp this morning. I used anti slip tape for bathtubs on the ramp? I will see how long it stays in place. I also cut the wood to go over the hoses and wires so I can remove it for cleanings . It's finished.

Day number 2 on the ramp and the tape hasn't come off yet are you saying that you like the cork bark better than the ramp Steve?

Cork is always nice. They way my RES zoom across the water, I'm always concerned about hard edges. I would place him up there a few times... let him know he's missing out on the heat.

My girlfriend was at my place today Steve and actually seen both of my turtles basking up there so I think it's going to be okay. Mine launch off the dock into water! Turtles are tough!!

This tape would cost $34 Shipped. And I dont need 60' of it Im going to a pool store to see if they have it or can get it cheaper.

I tried some bath safety skid strips from bed bath and beyond. They are clear and comes with 24 6"x1" strips in a peel and stick sheet. Cost me about $4. It sticks fairly well on acrylic and hold up in water. However, they are very thin so the turtle struggles to dig his claws in so I just switched to a zoo med dock and used the rest of the strips on the acrylic landing area for traction.

Great work! Question... Are you using anything to attach the ATBA to the tank?

They are usually made to fit within the tank rim, which has a bevel, or they are made to fit around it. The latter are usually a one piece that can be lifted out.
