does it really matter what u have in your tank? right now i have two tanks one for each turtle. they are about 2 or 3 months old. one of them is growning and the other is not. a man at a pet store said to separate them so i did. well in the tanks all i have is the water and a rock in one and a dock kind of think in the other for them to get out of the water. also i have a heat lamp in each. do i need ne thing think else?

Try and make it a little more interesting for them. Throw some fake plants in there. I have the kind that suctions to the side of the tank and my guys like to sleep on those. When they were smaller, they had a reptile cave that they loved to hide in. Try river rocks and guppies too. Gotta give them some mental stimulation. This has nothing to do with growth tho.

Mine seem to love to chase fish when they are bored. Also, I just got ahold of some ghost shrimp, and those can keep them busy for hours on end chasing around the tank. Just think of yourself and how boring it would be if you just lived in a box. Some people also give them ping pong balls to push around.

How would you like being stuck in one place with nothing to look at? Turtles are curious creatures--give them some river rocks to push around. Some greenery would make the tank nicer to look at for you as well as giving them privacy/ something to rest on. Some people have even put a ping pong ball in with them to give them something to push around.

My turt has lots to do... fake plants, a floating ball, cave, small rocks/marbles to push around, a sea shell, and a fake stump. He ignores all of it minus the plants that he sleeps on. My turtle is a bummer lol.

What does he do, then? My RES spends a lot of time fluttering his paws at his rocks-- and he has his favorites that he can pick out even after I've moved the rocks completely around. (He's looking for love in all the wrong places.

he basks or stays in the plants, or just putters around,
