If it's in direct sunlight, you may have algae problems in the future.

Algae problems, and in hot weather, if the tank is in direct sunlight, probable heating problems (too warm).

It'll still heat up with the blinds closed. If you're keeping them by the window for light, that won't work anyway. They won't get the benefits of uvb through a window.

but leaving it by the window won't harm the turtle will it?? I would place it somewhere else but that place is the only spot i have left in my room....

you do not want to have swings in temperature. do you have double-plated insulated windows and a heavy curtain? plus, it's difficult to cool water down sometimes. find a different place.

It can harm the turtle if it overheats the water. It can do that even with the blinds closed. Move some stuff around..there must be another spot.

I guess it depends on why you're keeping it there. Is it for heat or light or what? I saw in one of your other posts that you do have a heater..I guess I'm missing something

he'll be fine elsewhere as long as the proper temps are maintained. If anything, he'd be better off away from the window if there's a crack somewhere...Some of my windows arent sealed properly and it gets really drafty in the winter.

You could always do a little room rearranging...I sometimes find that I have a little more space for things when I do.
