No, they're fake plants. It's a large one of these:

Here's what the package looks like (creds to Grey Goose for the pic)

Stars sc, most hardware and DIY stores carry egg crate. I think you can find it in the lighting section.

I would take that glass thing off. If/When it gets tipped over, you could have glass shards all throughout your tank and your filter.

This is one I made for my two babies. They are in a 55 gallon tank with a basking area on the left of the tank.

Its for a waterline of about 16"... I just tightened up the screws and the sylicone is still drying. I will have more pics later when I get it in the water and hopefuly my babies love it.

It no longer has the green slip guard and the statues, and I consolidated the lights with a Mercury Vapor Bulb.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what exactly this "green slip guard" would be called if i went to look for it at the store, and what store I should go to. I need something to cover the bottom of Koopa's ATBA because it's glass on the bottom and I figured the green stuff would work. I'm currently using her old zoomed dock to use as her ramp but we're still working on how to attach it ^^;; I might just go buy a piece of egg crate..

I'm not sure the exact name, but I think it's shelf liner. Bed Bath Beyond, Wal Mart should have them. Alternatively, you can look for reptile carpet.
