I have the uvb bulb and a heat lamp for the turts, but i also have a 4' flourescent hanging over them for light to see. I believe there is just your regular warm white bulbs in there and i find that its way too bright even for me. Anyone have a thought on what other type tube i should be using.

What kind of UVB bulb do you have? And how big is your tank (it must be fairly large if the light over it is 4'). If the lighting (UVB and heat lights) is adequate, you could just keep using the regular light over the tank if you feel it's necessary. Or you could use a UVB tube light in place of the UVB light you have next time (with no cover on it).

I have the Zoo Med 5.0 screwed into a cheapo clamp lamp. Also Zoo Med infrared heat lamp 75w. These are pointed at the top of the dock. My tank is a modified 50+ gallon rubbermaid bin.
I'm just trying to change the color/brightness of the cool white tubes. I find it to be kinda very bright. I have plant grow tubes but i think if i use them i'll get algea even worse.
