Getting use to a 55?

More then likely my turtle will make his jump to a 55 gallon Tuesday afternoon. He has lived in a ten gallon for about a year now. I have the tank completly set up, and I'm adding some Mollies to test it tomorrow.

The water is filled up to about three inches below the top. Is he going to have any problems adjusting to this new habitat or should he be okay?

Second thing, with this aquarium, I got several castles, I didn't put any in because I fear him getting stuck in one of them. Am I over cautious or is this a good idea?

Thanks.

10 gallon for a year? Errrrrrrrr Grrrrrrrrr

He may be alittle nervous, but he'll get used to it, especially if its in the same room and near the original tank (which I'm guessing). It might take 2-3 days before he figures out where to bask as well.

I would skip the castles too.

Don't have sharp objects in the tank (many of the castles I've see are abrasive and pointy). Have some floating plants for him to rest on/hide in. what kind of filter are you going to be using?

He's only about 1 3/4", he just recently outgrew his ten. Yes same room, and about a foot away from the old one.

I'm probably getting an xp2 or xp3 soon.
