Cleaning Waste..

I just bought a 20 Gallon Tank and filled it to about 6 inches. Previously, all my turtle had was a 3-5 gallon plastic tub with about 1 inch or less of water (I know, should have given him more swim space, and I did realize that mistake). The old tub was easy to clean but I had to clean often. The poop was very easy to get.

But my question is, now that I have a deeper tank, how will I get the poop out? Should I buy a net or something? Any help would be appreciated.

If you get a good filter, it shouldn't be much of a problem. I have a 50 gal with a crappy filter so if I want to get rid of extra poop, I just use a turkey baster to suck it up. I must add that the baster is used ONLY for that purpose..lol

I told my aunt about the turkey baster that I used for Koopa's tank. She quickly replied, Remind me not to eat Thanksgiving dinner with you! I too had to say "that's all it's used for "

I have a small hand held syphoning "thing" (for lack of a better term) It has a tube that goes in to the tank and one that comes out into a bucket and you just pump it at the top to start it and I clean the bottom of the tank with that in 5-10 minutes. Then refill. I know it's for a fish aquarium but have no idea where my husband got it a long time ago. I don't know what I'd do without it. So much quicker than a net or turkey baster if you need to do a partial/full tank change. :)
