The "Sticky" subject says a 2 Inch Turtle = minimum 20 Gallon Tank

From what I read, I think I have a small tank. It's only about 20 in width and about 12-14 in in height, and I'm able to put about 6 Litres of water......my turtle is maybe 2 inches or a bit more, so how many gallons is the 6 litres of water that I use? Seems like i don't have enough water??

From what I read on some converting sites, it says 6 Litres of Water = 1.585032223705108 US Gallons........so that means i need like 85 LITRES of Water????? Sounds like so much??? Sorry I'm not good with converting

Thanks! :D

you will need to upgrade fast . . . they should be okay for a little bit but i would get the biggest you can afford as soon as possible, it will save you money in the long run.

Thats 1.59 gallons of water. In my opinion that is NOT nearly enough. I have 2 gallons for my FBT's and looking at what they have in their tank, I don't know how an RES could survive in that little water.

If you can't afford a big tank look into one of those rubbermaid containers. I have one of mine in one and its worked out great so far.

Are you sure your calculations are correct. You said the measurements are width 20" and Height is 12-14... that sounds like a 10-15 gallon tank. Take the measurements again and then check this site to calcuate what size tank you have..

Do you buy your water that you are concerned about having to use so much of it? What is the rest of your setup like? Filter/heater/lights/basking area .. etc?
