Anything you put in the tank has the potential to be lunch... gravel (which is why its not recommended), fish, plants, snails...

I have one that is about the size of my turtle and so far so good. They leave each other alone except for the pleco occasionally cleaning the turtles shell. But I know eventually Koopa might see him as lunch.

Pete has attacked and every kind of fish I have added (including my poor betta), however, he seems to leave the bottom feeders alone (guess he knows they clean up his poop!) Occasionally the pleco will even try to clean his shell.

i have 4 algae eaters in my tank that have been in there prolly going for almost a month now and they have not been "dinner" yet by any of my 4 turts.
they Dont do a bad job at all of cleaning the tank either

I have a pleco also - he has grown tremendously since I got him in July of this year. My turt gets curious once in a while and will go over to him, then swims away, the pleco just goes about his cleaning....

We also have 2 algea eather, so far so good. I still have 7 feeder fish swimming around, I hope the turts didn't give up on them.
