Algea

I've noticed that there has been more algea growth lately in the tank. This has been a non-issue 'til now. It seems to be growing where the light is most direct...around the basking rock where it is submerged and along the glass near the rock. Is there a treatment for the algea that is safe for the turtle between complete water changes?

Where is the tank located? If it's near a window or an area where it gets direct sunlight, algae will start to grow.
I have never used algae treatments, nor do I plan to. I kinda like the extra green, makes it look more natural.
What I do to remove some is to just scrape or clean it off.

I skip the algae treatments as well... I just get a toothbrush and scrub

I have a pleco in the tank (for the time being
) so algae has never gotten out of hand for me.

O.k. If it's not a big deal then I won't change the routine. Will he eat the algea?

RES in the wild do consume some matter of the algae. Usually when there's no more lettuce to graze on, my turtle will nip at the algae.
