Does anyone know where i can get something LARGE that i could keep my turtles in for a long while, fill up all the way, CHEAP!!!!!!! and clear, i really want to see my turtles from the side, any ideas???

Mabey there is a clear stock tank?

my dad would have a fit, i get so pissed off, he always says "the neighbors had a giant turtle in a 10 gallon tank" I DONT GIVE WHAT THE NEIGHBORS HAD!!!!!!! He doesnt know that it should be 10 gallons for every inch.

i'm now alone in getting a tank, a 13 year old boy, needing to get a tank...odds arent good..

i'm going to try and save up $300 to buy a big tank with all of the things and stuff..

when my sister leaves the house, she isnt getting her turtle, its going to die, shes going to neglect it to a small tank, forget to feed it, it will just die..

i've decided. i'm keeping them both.

If you want cheap, it is not going to be clear.

The larger rubber maid containers will work but you will to build a wood fram to keep them from bowing out and cracking.

Stock tanks are the best option, not really cheap but less than glass or acrylic aquariums.

Glass aquariums are the best but most expensive. If you are handy you can build your own. Just make sure you do it right or you'll have a gigantic mess. I personaly recomend a 90 gallon breeder with a basking extension built on top.

as for cheap. check the classifieds, thrift stores and my favorite... Craigslist.org

one note - I have glass tank but it's almost always covered because my turts will start begging if they see me. RES should also feel safer in a stock tank.

I love stock tanks. Ponds and rivers do not have clear/transparent sides...

will an acrylic tank work? i'm thinking mabey a 65 gallon acrylic from glasscages.com, with shipping directly to my house, it'll be 150 some, worth it?

They won't ship directly to your house. They will ship to a freight pickup location nearest to where you live. Now that might be in another city if where you live doesn't have one. I had considered buying from them but decided not to after having talked with them about their shipping. They charge way too much for shipping and won't even ship it to your house.

Here is the email they sent me when I asked to have an acryllic tank shipped to my house. And they wanted to charge me $220 for shipping to the freight terminal. I'm like that is more than the tank costs.

Read the term "freight terminal". You pick up there - no residential shipments.

Acrylic 90 gallon long costs $190.00 - $40.00 more than glass and not as good - acrylic scratches quickly and easily scratches.

you posted that in september, i got totally different emails, plus, people always say, NO ACRYLIC FOR TURTLES IT WILL SCRATCH.

Acrylic is easily refinished with a variety of scratch removal kits. Glass scratches forever.
