when you clean your tank or put water into the tank, do you keep the water out for a period of time before you put it in to the tank? if so, why? (what does leaving water out do) and for how long?

No I don't leave the water out before putting it in the tank. I treat it with dechlorinator while filling the tank. I think some people will leave it out for the chlorine to evaporate, but not sure how long that takes. I find it's much easier just to treat it yourself with the bought dechlorinator and faster as well.

Leaving water out for 24 hours will get rid of chlorine but it's not practical for the way I do things. I just use ReptiSafe water conditioner.

Letting water stand in an open container for 24 hours will let the chlorine evaporate but not chloramine, which tap water is often treated with as well. Using a dechlorinator that eliminates both (such as Reptisafe, Amquel, etc.) is easier.

Ellman605 - you need to be more careful of how you say things. You can be quite offensive and rude! And just to clarify. The bottle that was pictured had the directions on it. That is where the info is from.

Could we get a please? And curiousmonkey isn't the only one finding it a bit harsh, it seems like you are only posting to tell people to look in your 'sig' and that's it. Just answer the question or not reply the way you do, because I've seen this LOADS of times and it is getting a bit repetitive and unnecessary.
